Enclosed is the latest version of the QuickHelp Viewer. Many Macintosh applications use QuickHelp as their online help system. Unfortunately, most of them use QuickHelp in a slightly different way. Therefore, describing the correct way to upgrade QuickHelp for every application is impossible.
Here are a few things to keep in mind when upgrading QuickHelp:
* We cannot guarantee that you will be able to upgrade to the new version of QuickHelp. Please make backups of all pertinent software and data. Also, it is best to contact the manufacturer of your software to see if they allow you to upgrade to the new version of QuickHelp or if there are any known problems. Upgrade at your own risk.
* For Claris applications, you should place QuickHelp in the Claris folder inside of the System Folder. You must remove the version of QuickHelp that is already there and rename the upgrade QuickHelp exactly “QuickHelp” (i.e. delete the ™ symbol).
* Many applications don’t care where the QuickHelp Viewer is located; they merely launch the latest version of the Viewer that they find on your hard disk. If your application doesn’t seem to recognize the upgraded QuickHelp, make sure that you don’t have other copies of the QuickHelp Viewer on your hard disk(s).
